Fishing
Puntzi Lake is well known for excellent Kokanee and Rainbow Trout fishing. You can rent a boat or bring your own. The lake is 11km x 5 km so there is lots of lake to explore. The lake is about 140ft deep at its deepest point. We have docks for your boat as well as fishing tackle for sale or to rent.
Fishing Derby
The fishing derby is always the weekend after the Williams Lake Stampede. Barney's is the host of the derby in 2009 and we look forward to seeing you and making it a memorable event. Photos are from the Puntzi Lake Fishing Derby at Barney's Lakeside Resort 2009.

Hiking and Mountain Bike Riding
The area has miles of trails so you can take a short trip or a day long hike all within views of the lake. There is also an abandoned homestead for you to visit!
Bird Watching
Puntzi Lake is visited by White Pelicans during the summer as they migrate from Californa, Blue Birds, Hawks, Eagles, Herons and many different species of ducks can be seen at Puntzi Lake. Other bird conservation sites offer great bird watching as well. Ask us and we'll be glad to give you directions.
ATV Riding
Old logging and gravel roads go for miles. You can ride all day with access to remote fishing lakes, explore abandoned homesteads and townsites or visit Puntzi Mountain and have a 360 degree view of the Chilcotin Plateau.
Hunting
Join us in the hunting season as well. Our cabins are available until November 15th!
